YouTube to summary: turn a lesson into study notes

Supernapse uses YouTube videos as sources for AI summaries, at the length you choose, alongside the other materials in your study folder.

Keep the explanation's logic, not just the topic

A video lesson explains, gives examples and circles back. Your notes should surface the core concept and its connections, not the order of the talk.

Give the video a place in your study routine

  1. Pick the lesson and its folder

Add the video to a topic folder with related slides, PDFs and notes.

  2. Choose the length

Short to revisit the main points; fuller to study before practicing.

  3. Read, compare and refine

Check terms and connections against the lesson, then edit and export as PDF or Word.

Example: useful notes from a Calvin cycle lesson

An illustrative structure for review, not a transcript or guaranteed output from a particular video.

Put the central idea first

The Calvin cycle uses ATP and NADPH from the light reactions to fix CO₂. Lead with that dependency.

Separate the roles, then connect them

One point for the light reactions, another for the cycle, then link the two.

Turn a gap into a task

Can't yet explain why the cycle depends on the light reactions? Note the question and ask the tutor.

Check the notes before relying on them

  • Distinctions made in the lesson

Similar terms may mean different ideas; keep the distinctions your course makes.

  • Visual examples and calculations

Rewatch diagrams, tables or on-screen calculations: notes support your reading but don't replace the demonstration.

  • From reading to practice

Create flashcards to recall and questions to apply, all in the same folder.
