Your Mastery: see what has stuck in memory
By subject, Your Mastery shows how many items are already stable, how many reviews are left and how your review accuracy is going. In counts, not bare percentages.
What is already solid in your memory, by subject
Your Mastery sits on the app's home screen and opens your progress by subject. It answers a simple question: of what you studied, what has stuck?
The numbers come from your answers in Daily Study. Every review shows a bit more of what is solid and what still needs to come back.
What's on the screen
Right now
How many items are stable, how many are due today and how many items your materials hold.
Today
What today's session changed: right answers, earlier mistakes that are now right, items that got stronger and new items.
By subject
Stable items out of the total, pending reviews, the next review and your accuracy in reviews over the last few days.
Milestones
Facts about your study, such as your first spaced recall in a subject or a number of items stable for 3 weeks or more.
A sample subject
Illustrative numbers, in the screen's format.
48 of 60 items stable (estimated)
Of what has entered your Biology reviews, 48 items hold up after a few weeks without seeing them.
6 to review
Items that are due to come back. They go into your Daily Study.
Accuracy: 31 of 40 reviews (30 days)
How many reviews you got right in that period, counted one by one.
Next review: tomorrow
When this subject shows up in your session again.
What a stable item is
An item becomes stable when it holds for 3 weeks or more without review. It measures memory, not how many times you saw the content.
At first the app knows little about your pace. That's why the numbers show “(estimated)”: it is an estimate from the memory model, and it gets more accurate with your reviews.
What comes with Your Mastery
-
Weekly goal
You set how many days a week you want to study. The flower on the home screen opens as you move toward the goal and blooms fully once you reach it. It starts over every Monday.
-
Streak
Your streak counts the days in a row you studied in the app.
-
Review now
Reviews waiting? Your Mastery takes you straight to the items that are due.
-
Archived subjects
When you archive a subject, it leaves your sessions and its mastery is frozen. You can reactivate it any time.
Counts, not promises
Your Mastery shows what is already solid among the items in your materials. It isn't a grade, doesn't compare you with other people and doesn't predict whether you'll pass. If an exam topic isn't in your materials, it doesn't show up here either.
Frequently asked questions
Why does it say “(estimated)”?
Because at first the numbers are an estimate from the memory model. It gets more accurate as you review in Daily Study.
Why counts instead of percentages?
Because “48 of 60 items stable” says exactly what was measured. A bare percentage looks like an exam grade, and it isn't one.
When does an item count as stable?
When it holds for 3 weeks or more without review.
Does Your Mastery tell me whether I'll pass?
No. It shows what has stuck from your material, not what the exam will ask or your chances of passing.
Where do the numbers come from?
From your answers in Daily Study: flashcards, questions, true or false and the session's other formats.
